Ever.
Sorry, no. I don't want to hear any shady crap about Obama's low dollar donations, or where the money is coming from, or how you are getting outspent.
Because the retort will be:
$150K for wardrobe.
I mean really. Forget the potential illegal aspects of this thing. Forget the PR bungling of it. Look it at from a strictly strategic campaign perspective.
If I'm an RNC donor at this point, I'm fuming. I'd be thinking, "While my candidate is getting outspent nearly 3-to-1, my party is spending six figures to outfit the VP candidate."
$150,000 that could have been spent on ads in swing states.
$150,000 that could have been spent on GOTV efforts.
$150,000 that could have been spent competitive House and Senate races.
$150,000 that could have been spent on a ground game.
This is how you know the Republicans are in seriously trouble, and will probably lose. Karl Rove would have gone nuts if he knew that $150,000 was gone forever to Saks. What he could have done with that organizing his fundementalist churches, or swinging a key county in Ohio.
So, no, I really don't want to hear any more whining about Obama's cash advantage and where it is really coming from.
And while we are at? Yeah, McCain can dump his talking point about "controlling spending" in Washington. If the last eight years didn't prove to you that Republicans spend money like drunken sailors, maybe the latest fashions for Sarah Palin will.
Utterly pathetic.
