Minnesota Public Radio is reporting that vandals struck several MN representatives' homes overnight.
Representatives for Sens. Norm Coleman and Amy Klobuchar and Reps. Jim Ramstad, John Kline, Keith Ellison and Michelle Bachmann all confirmed the incidents today. All reported the same words painted on walls and garages: "Scum," "resign," and "Psalm 2."
Psalm 2 warns "kings of the earth" against incurring God's wrath.
Further reports from the Star Tribune and Pioneer Press.
That's 2 Dems (Klobuchar and Ellison), 4 Repugs. They live in various areas in and near the Twin Cities (Norm is in my neighborhood, in fact). I'm glad that it was limited to just graffiti, and not such very scary graffiti at that, but there's never ANY excuse for this kind of dumbass behavior. It could just be a bunch of knuckledraggers out for kicks, but it seems like a lot of work, and required some organization--so perhaps it really is a sincere religious whacko, or a group of them. Which is more alarming to me than knuckledraggers.
We did have vandalism at the Obama campaign headquarters a couple of months back, but otherwise it's been pretty quiet and Minnesotan around here in terms of pre-election mania. (If you don't count the RNC, that is.)
