Why does David Gregory and the MSM have such a stiffy for pushing the "Bradley-Effect"/Racist meme this election cycle? Of course, we all know the answer: talk of racism moves ratings numbers. It also sends racists the message that there is some validity to their point of view. When MSM talking heads like Gregory politely discuss how there are "some" people who won't vote for Obama because he's black, they rarely, if ever, editorialize that such a position is wrong, because as good "journalists" they play the issue down the middle, as if there's two valid sides to this argument. It's the false equivelency thing all over again.
Here's how Gregory teased an upcoming segment on Race...
"Another national poll out today shows Obama way ahead, but the question about voters and race is a potential warning bell, a warning sign for the Obama Campaign. We're going to talk about it after this..."
(Race for the White House, Oct. 24, 2008)
Excuse me? A poll on race is a warning sign to the Obama campaign that is "way ahead" in the polls? What exactly should we be warning Obama about? Warning! Obama Campaign.. Listen up! Barack is Black and some ignorant fuckwads are going to vote against him because they're racist! Attention must be paid! So... er... stop being black! You're ahead by double-digits in the polls, but if you were only white, then you could get the racist vote!
All the racial hoaxes, feigned outrage and the fanning of the dying embers of racism in America isn't going to work this time.
