Well Detective Martinez of Hays County Sheriff Bridges' office and deputies Hipolote, Walker and Villereal ALL deserve BIG UPS.
Their investigation and recent arrests, may affirm my first poll choice and first instinct/intuition: these may well be just some misguided kids that trashed my car with apparently anti-Obama sentiment in orange spray paint.
Arrested in this incident have been a 15-year-old kid who is now in Juvi and two 12-year-old kids who have been released to their parents.
The Wimberley View is running a story and an editorial about this incident, and the story appeared on TV at KXAN and on the radio at KLBJ and in the Austin American Statesman.
Is it political if it's "just a couple of kids"?
I don't really know. What motivated them to attack a Honda Civic Hybrid with an Obama sticker, when there were two other vehicles, SUV's without political affiliation on display, parked in front of and behind it, that were left alone?
Emotion? Emotion fueled by the kind of rhetoric we've heard from Sarah Palin and John McCain in the past few days? I do not know, but I suspect so.
Obviously the insurance company will file a subrogation suit and get their money back one way or another.
But what to do about the deductible? The monies collected by the charity I would prefer stay with the charity while we establish some truth and reconciliation.
If it is these three kids, what would be the best way to address this issue? Five hundred bucks worth of work from a teenager and two 12-year-olds seems fair.
