I just got off a nationwide conference call in which Senator Obama spoke to young people like myself about changing America. What he had to say and more...
Just got off a nationwide conference call with Senator Obama delivering his message via phone to young people across the country from the College Democrats of America and Students For Barack Obama.
For the majority of the call, Senator Obama outlined his plans tailored to young people such as increased pell grants, getting more students to apply for the financial aid they need to make college affordable. He spoke about his health care plan which would keep young people under their parent's health care plan until they turned 25 and how he wants to create 5 million new green energy jobs. And of course, he spoke about ending the war in Iraq that young people are dying for.
The conference call was also a call by Senator Obama for action. A call for young people to make one final push until Election Day.
Senator Obama said it best:
"I know you’re gonna deliver. It was young people who helped me secure the nomination by helping to knock on doors, make phone calls, and donating money. We can’t afford to take a single vote for granted."
In closing, Senator Obama stated how grateful he was to young people:
"I’m proud of you, you are the leaders of the future. Let’s go out and make some history."
