Please allow me a rant. I don't wish to be dismissive or disrespectful of anyone, but some, no a whole bunch of my fellow progressives are getting on my nerves!
You see, the election draws closer and some people don't know how to enjoy winning. Every cliche about perseverance and remaining vigilant is deployed against anyone who might dare to believe we will win and isn't afraid to say it.
I'm calling b.s. on all scare tactics no matter where they originate.
I am so very tired of people trying to get me caught up in their neuroses!
You scared? Well that's on you. Quit trying to blow a hole in my confidence.
Stop telling me I'm not seeing what I'm seeing when what I see is no way for John McCain to win unless millions upon millions of people have lied to the pollsters or suddenly change their minds.
Quit telling me to expect voter fraud on the most conspicuous of levels and on a national scale.
And for freakin sakes stop acting as if those of us who have worked our butts off this campaign are suddenly going to become unmotivated and lazy because at this point it really is an insult.
We've given time and money. We've worked hard and there is every indication that that hard work is paying off. I refuse to act like a loser.
I am enjoying this. I am enjoying watching the Republicans implode. I am enjoying the desperation of the McCain campaign. I look forward to their coming civil war.
If you've been out there talking to people, heard the stories and understood the profound desire for change, then you should know that Barack Obama will be our next President.
So from now on,I'm avoiding such people. If this means I have to read less commentary, then so be it. If it means that I have to change the channel on the t.v. then I'll do it.
I want to follow the lead of Obama. Calm, cool, resolute, and most importantly, confident.
