Everyone knows that passing associations imply lockstep agreement with that person.
This is even more applicable to academia, where people have questioned my liberal bona fides for attending the University of Chicago, where such geopolitical experts as Paul Wolfowitz studied, where Milton Friedman's monetarist policy was developed, and where neoconservative muse Leo Strauss taught.
But I never thought that my three years of undergraduate study in a particular field implied my support for everything produced by the faculty of that particular field, until now.
Yes, I am a "terrorist supporter", since I studied political science at the University of Chicago when Rashid Khalidi was on the faculty there, and before the U of C Law School hired Barack Obama as a lecturer.
In fact, I may have associated with Khalidi; even though I concentrated in modern American politics, not Middle Eastern, I probably met Khalidi at departmental functions and lectures on campus, or interviewed him regarding the First Gulf War.
Neoconservative Jews and shmegeges like David Horowitz would also think that I'm even worse than Obama, since I took an International Relations course with Stephen Walt, while John Mearsheimer was the head of the Poli Sci department.
I can hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the Likudniks who believe their militarism is the only way to guarantee peace and freedom for Israel.
And, no, John McCain's praise for G. Gordon Liddyand having Liddy host fundraisers is totally irrelevant, as is his accepting campaign contributions from Carl Lindner, whose company, Chiquita Brands, funded both right-wing AUC and left-wing FARC terrorists in Colombia and were fined $25 million.
Remember, IOKIYAR, even if it involves ties to terrorism. In fact, especially if it involves ties to terrorism!
