I don't know how much interest there may be in this, but on the newspaper endorsement front Obama is kicking major ass.
The current Wikipedia listings for presidential endorsements from daily newspapers, magazines, weekly papers and other publications shows Obama with a huge lead of 268 to 91. The circulation of publications favoring Obama is 32,921,615 completely dwarfing the McCain endorsement circulation of 8,401,635.
On the matter of party switches from 2004, there are now 48 publications that supported Bush which now go for Obama, while only 5 have switched from Kerry to McCain. http://en.wikipedia.org/...
I don't know exactly how much sway this all has with the electorate, but I do know I'd much rather be in the position of Barack Obama, than that of John McCain. And undoubtedly this surge of support from the nation's publications has to at least to some extent be indicative of the kind of support Obama now has both nationally and on the state level.
We go into these last 5 days in very good shape in both the polls and in the kind of support that Barack Obama is getting from the print media. So now we need to get out there and close this deal. After a long and tough marathon we can finally see the finish line. Let's now pick up the pace and run thru that tape as hard as we can.
