Short diary.
Man, oh, man. They know how to throw a lot of unsubstantiated bullshit, yet they expect that they never have to back it up.
On CNN Newsroom, Rick "taser" Sanchez had McCain supporter and Weekly Standard columnist Michael Goldfarb to spread more muck about Barack Obama. the usual charges came up, most notably Barack Obama's BFF's - Bill Ayers and Rashid Khalidi.
Michael Goldfarb, ever the objective observer, attempts to paint Obama as an anti-Semite through his unbelievably close, almost romantic, relationship with Khalidi[/chortle]. Goldfarb claims that Obama "has a history" of hanging out with anti-Semites. But when pressed to name one other person who fits the description... well, the pregnant pause says it all. He saw an opening to re-introduce Bill Ayers into the discussion, but as Rick Sanchez pointed out, Ayers had no connections whatsoever with anti-Semitic activity.
I'm not ready to give Rick Sanchez too much credit for this - it was the least he could do (although he certainly did his part by not filling in that gaping hole for him). But the main point of this is in showing just how little connection to reality the Republican Party feels they need to be in order to make these accusations. Could they possibly be more cynical?
