Following swiftly on the heels of Palin's comedy double act with Katie Couric, she's taken up the baton with Fox. Only this time she's obviously been doing her research. Rove and co have really earned their crust with this.
Most notable is just how much Palin has come on as a Constitutional scholar in the last week or so. Her knowledge of supreme court rulings (and fancy phrases like "eminent domain") isn't too shoddy:
"A recent one, Kennedy vs. Louisiana, where the Supreme Court will tell a state that they cannot impose the death penalty even on repeat rapists. A state’s right taken away by the Supreme Court and we will not be able to decide ourselves whether the death penalty could be implemented in that. I am certainly not a supporter of that decision.
"Also, eminent domain. That affects me as a governor and as a mayor as well. Private property rights are so precious in this nation and for the Supreme Court to have sided with government, instead of the people, the property owners, that was frustrating.
"Another one personally affecting me, the Exxon Valdez oil spill. The oil company decimated Alaska’s coastline and much of our fisheries and coastal communities’ livelihood, and they sided with Exxon on the punitive damage that was to be awarded. That was frustrating."
WTF? Do the Rove republicans really expect us to swallow this? You can't train somebody to answer two questions (she reads the NYT and Economist now apparently) perfectly and pass them off as knowledgeable and experienced.
I'm actually angry that they've even tried to do this. The sheer arrogance of it. I just hope most people will see straight through this sharade.
This diary shamelessly plagiarised from here.
Update: In part four of the interview Palin calls Obma-Biden "the most liberal ticket ever". Is this really true? (quote is @2:15).
