I'm very concerned about the country. Our country has problems. "The divisions we witnessed in 2000 and 2004 will become painfully evident in a deep US recession or depression" Part 1 is pro-liberal comments on Republican Fascism. Part 2 is a hypothetical post-election environment that I think every American should consider. I recommend reading part 2 first if you can't stomach my comparisons of Republican Neofascism to modern fascists in pre-War Germany and Italy.
Goebbels was a genius, and one well worth respecting for his political strategic abilities.
Notice any propaganda similarities with Republican politics in the last 30 years (especially the last eight)?... read the principles at the end of the note.
Republicans have mastered it. They have also mastered fascist principles by manipulating the use of nationalism, patriotism, anti-immigration, cultural isolationism, and opposition to liberalism to create an ideology to dupe the masses. We have witnessed the rise of neofascism and we're in for one hell of a ride the next few years....Bush and now Palin are just the tip of the iceberg. With the economic crisis and the impending foreclosures of millions of homes and the potential global side effects of a devalued dollar, the US could very well face it's most tumultuous domestic environment since the Civil War, if not at least the 1960s.
Textbook Republican operations...
Read on Fascism from the modern creator, Mussolini: http://www.fordham.edu/... Hitler adopted much from Mussolini's principles, but also included racial hatred and scapegoating to the list...hence the extermination of Jews. Obviously, propaganda wasn't everything; he had an incredibly well-organized Party, but many also believe Goebbels was the mastermind behind that. ...Fascism is very powerful and can be very successful with a strong centralized propaganda machine......hence the never-named, "conservative media bias" and the Rovian politics (he's the Goebbels of our time). How come you don't hear this term, conservative media bias? Because it's not a part of the Democratic playbook...we don't do fascism.
Read below on Geobbels propaganda principles...(in Part 2)
Our country is divided. There's no getting around it. There is a conservative republican base that is utterly duped by the Republican machine. Note how John McCain is not really seen as a Republican and how it took a complete know-nothing nationalist propagating, evolution damning, gun toting, anti-nonconservative propaganda media machine, lady from nowhere, in Palin, to excite the base.
There is a fundamental dissonance that exists in America. It is a country where barely 50% vote and the average American doesn't know much about their country's politics...let alone their economics. Ultimately, this is a recipe for disaster. We all thought this was going to be a piece of cake election, and with the financial crisis worsening, it will still likely be an Obama victory, possibly even landslide.
