Here's an idea for an ad:
Sarah Palin, on the stump outside Los Angeles the other day, quoted former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright saying: "There's a place in hell reserved for women who don't support other women."
Here's the video:
Let's explain to Governor Palin and her running mate John McCain, what supporting women really means.
I would use Madeleine Albright herself to narrate this ad, or at least to introduce it in the opening frames. As she herself explainedto the Huffington Post,
"Though I am flattered that Governor Palin has chosen to cite me as a source of wisdom, what I said had nothing to do with politics. This is yet another example of McCain and Palin distorting the truth, and all the more reason to remember that this campaign is not about gender, it is about which candidate has an agenda that will improve the lives of all Americans, including women. The truth is, if you care about the status of women in our society and in our troubled economy, the best choice by far is Obama-Biden."
The ad begins with Albright explaining that supporting other women doesn't mean supporting the political ambitions of a single woman, but standing up for the welfare and just treatment of ALL women.
*That's why Obama-Biden stand for equal pay for equal work, a position McCain has voted against.
*That's why Obama-Biden believe that abortion is a choice that should be left to a woman and her doctor.
*That's why Joe Biden wrote and passed the Violence Against Women Act, which John McCain voted against.
If Sarah Palin wants to talk about reservations in hell for those who don't support women, there's a table for two waiting for her and John McCain.
