here (if don't screw it up)
I'm annoyed by some of the reporting on NPR but Terry Gross and Ira Glass put out some very indepth discussions of important issues and this is one of them.
It discusses how the cfta played into the current financial crisis and goes on to discuss how it slipped past Clinton and certain aspects are being ignored by the Bush Admin. Also discussed: why we will never see one drop of our oil in our tanks no matter how much we drill; how the available off shore drilling spots will release lots of Methane, a much bigger global warming gas than Co2, what's deregulated and what's not and how they shifted, and how banks are looking oil companies and morphing inot Oil companies and buying up the oil fields.
once they qualify as commercial traders of oil, they slip into a less regulated category of trader.
The guest is Antonia Juhasz and her book is 'Tyranny of Oil' Is A Grave Threat.
I suck at this so I'll just leave it there. The segment is about 45 minutes long and well worth the listen.
