During the portion on healthcare, when McCain was talking about Obama's supposed fines on small business owners, did anyone else notice that he seemed to misspeak and say 'find' before quickly correcting himself and repeating fine again? I'm not sure he did, but if so, you want to bet that this slip was intentional, designed to subconsciously reinforce people's fears about terrorist-pallin' Obama?
I'd like to think that McCain would be above this sort of thing, but how could I after the last few days? By maybe (i can't tell exactly from the tape) suggesting that Obama will 'find' you (and your family) if elected, he could further the racially tinged otherness campaign being waged by Palin and co while still seeming honorable by not doing it blatantly. Couple it with his "that one" remark and this line of argument seems to strengthen. After all, some of people's deepest fears or reservations about race involve their own home and family. Perhaps the image of Obama, Patrick Ayers in tow, trying to find you, could be effective. That being said, I'm not entirely convinced this is true and wanted some input. Heres the link to the video.

(sorry for the non-youtube link, i couldn't find one up yet.) The segment you want is in the video from the healthcare portion of the debate.
Whether this is true or not, you know what i think? McCain should drop out of the race. Sure, it would hurt the repubs this election, but it would have some positives. For one, McCain's reputation could possibly be salvaged if he stepped aside for the good of the country noting the unique opportunity of Barack's campaign. Win for McCain because as of know he's on the way to being remembered as a slimeball. Win for downticket races because their ticket is no longer headed up by someone who has been ceaselessly labeled bash Bush II for the past few months. By 2012, Bush's bad memory will have faded (some), giving repubs a second shot at taking down Barack.
All in all i don't think this is going to hurt Obama very much, even if john did mean to say it. It's simply more evidence, if true, that McCain has hit rock bottom on the ethics scale.
