Democrat Alan Grayson is showing real strength in the Central Florida House District 08. His opponent has served 8 years as a Bush lackie and is paying the price in the polls. The Orlando Sentinel reports that Ric Keller's decision to run for a 5th term and violate his pledge not to serve more than 8 years is costing him support from his base. Meanwhile Grayson has been running a strong campaign with plenty of ads and hitting Keller over and over where it really hurts his campaign.
Let's check the numbers after the cut:
The Rothenberg Political Report recently changed the rating for the election fight between incumbent Rep. Ric Keller (R), and challenger Alan Grayson (D). The race is now considered a "pure-toss-up," according to the report. Today on WMFE's (the local NPR Station) Intersection radio show (listen here). Grayson was quoted saying his internal polls show him with a 7 point lead over his opponent. Interestingly Ric Keller refused an invitation to also appear on the show giving Grayson the whole half hour to rail against him.
I don't think this race is getting enough attention from national players. It has a real chance of going blue in a district that has previously been solid red. Please support Alan Grayson and help us turn Florida blue.
