Latest Obama ad hits McCain on health care. Video after the fold...
According to Ben Smith, this ad is running at least in Florida and Pennsylvania.
Clearly, the campaign believes it's got a real winner in the health care argument. Obama and Biden have criticized McCain's health care tax rebate sham plan relentlessly both on the trail and in debates. Having already demonstrated more credibility on the economy, health care is a pretty good two-fer issue for Obama to hammer.
I like this ad particularly because the simple image of the rolling ball - and its subsequent dramatic fall and unraveling - is memorable. So, too, is the turn of phrase "hanging by a thread" at the end. It's not a montage of dim photos, haunting music, and superimposed text. Who remembers those? Following a kind of "show me, don't tell me" philosophy of argument (See: Robert Gibbs v. Sean Hannity), unique images grab one's attention, hold it, and are far more easily remembered later. It's a great ad.
UPDATED: yg17 reports the ad running in Missouri. FleetAdmiralJ: Virginia, too!
