Just real quick, sorry about the lamo diary but I'm just so excited.
My hubby got up at 4:30am and got a coffee and as he rounded the corner he said this woman spotted him and then quickly dashed past him to be the first in line at our precinct polling place. He said he let her win because she looked so determined.
This is the northside of Chicago. It was 5:15am, the polls opened at 6am. He said that by the time they opened the doors, there were about a 100 people in line; he stopped counting after about #75.
The #1 lady said that she is a teacher at a public school and had told her students she would be the first in line at her poll. He said that he had a total ball chatting up all the other folks in line as well.
EVERYONE was super excited and he said that it was totally obvious that they were almost completely Obama supporters from the conversation they were all having with each other.
The poll workers told him that for every 100 in line, they estimated it takes an hour to get through their site.
Imagine that in Chicago, where Obama will certainly win. I voted early about a week ago.
