I have no home Democratic Senator to write to concerning Senator Lieberman.
So I submitted the following letter to Senator Reid:
Dear Senator Reid,
I urge you to encourage your colleagues in the Democratic caucus to award the chairmanship of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee to someone who shares the views of the caucus in these matters--someone other than Senator Lieberman.
I urge this with no personal animus nor in the spirit of retribution. It is simply that Sen. Lieberman has clearly demonstrated he cannot represent the mainstream of the caucus or loyal Democrats like me in this committee.
Perhaps the caucus can offer him a portfolio in which his views are clearly in the Democratic mainstream. But clearly, you, the caucus, President-elect Obama and the Democratic grassroots deserve a Senator with clearly Democratic principles in the Homeland Security committee chair.
Sincerely,
My Name
Not sure what else to do.
Update:
Here's Senator Reid's email form if you'd like to send a note yourself.
