No, this is not a series. Poets are rarely consistent.
But it is a late night jam (at least on the East Coast!), your own poems or poems you like, all that jazz. And jazz even!
I like Jack Kerouac's "pops," "American haikus." They're fun to write.
And here's a video of his recording in the 50's of these haikus (Al Cohn and Zoot Sims are also in this recording) (courtesy of YouTuber gothgod):
I got some pops, written on the spot, but otherwise they don't fit Jack's definition, ask me if I care!
Mild rain in November
Astorian street
gleams
Got a new vacuum cleaner
Imperiled dust!
Hearing calls
for sacrifice.
Guess I'll sell my yacht.
Manhattan wounds
disinfected
not healed.
Politics! Politics!
Winter skating
over thin ice.
Ok, enough of that. Jam away. Open mic.
