Though I haven't seen much by way of specific numbers, there have been sporadic rumors here and in the news of Obama folks who have headed down to Georgia to assist the very dedicated locals there.
I am happy to report here that there is at least one intrepid blogger and former Obama campaign staffer (formerly of the swing state NH) who is on the ground with other organizers, and they are doing everything they can both there and here on the blogosphere to raise awareness and activism in support of Jim Martin.
Please provide aid to this effort by recc'ing the diary at the link below the fold.
The screen name of our intrepid blogger who has arrived in GA via the Obama NH field staff is 2hands0feet and today he is trying to get the word out about the start of early voting in GA.
If you are interested in what's happening down there - one thing you can do is check out his daily diaries, and heed the calls (from him and others) for more support for Jim Martin and the GOTV efforts.
It is hard to believe that it has been 2 full weeks since Obama was elected. It is even harder to believe that we have just two more weeks to go to help get Jim Martin elected.
You know, the 2000 Presidential election was decided in Florida by just a few hundred votes (allegedly). And now, in 2008, there are three US Senate seats that still have not been settled. Amazingly, the margin of victory in for all three of these races combined is going to be just a few thousand votes.
Oh, and btw, if anyone here knows of any other activists or volunteers in GA who are blogging here, please add their screen names, etc., in the comments and I will post them in the update. Sorry, I don't have time to do search for them myself at this very moment. I have grading to do, and my wife needs the computer to finish her homework.
Onward to Victory in Georgia!
