Ok – The Lieberman thing has got us pissed off – just like we were in the Spring of 2004.
People who had taken our Democracy for granted started to work hard and looked for a way to take our country back. Promoting and supporting the grassroots revolution was some new comers to our world, net roots through blogs like Dailykos and Talking Points Memo, Crooks and Liars, and progressive talk radio with Air America Radio
I became so immersed with progressive talk radio that I had my husband threaten to leave me, my children cringe the minute we got into the car, and my job was in peril due to having head phones on all day for 24/7.
We listened, we read, we blogged, we volunteered, we voted. We voted Lieberman out of the party in 2006. That was not a mistake that was the "base" sending a message – do everything but be a Democratic and progressive and you will be challenged. While the 2006 Senate primary was just the beginning in raising our voices it was not the end. The old school Democrats foiled the revolution in Connecticut, but now they are regretting that support.
Then we saw poor management – Air America trying to go main stream, missing the whole point! With that they switched and made programming changes from Sam Seder to Lionel (still cannot get my head around that one) they made a big deal out of Randi Rhodes doing some private stand up routine (lost her). And since that time I have felt a hole a big hole in the circle that is progressive information.
Well in a day full of gloom there is some shinning light. All of you original fans to the Majority Report and Morning Sedition it is time to come back to the fold.
There is a new horizon on the progressive front.... entered after a long delay a new medium – Internet based progressive talk.....Maron V Seder – yes you heard that right...Mark Maron and Sam Seder (under Air America media) have a new platform that combines their wittiness, political acumen and a new media presentation that is just really cool.
