Dennis Kucinich is still
running for President. Why?
As everyone knows, John Kerry, for better or worse, now has enough delegates pledged to him to make it mathematically impossible for anyone else to receive the Democratic party nomination for President. Even in some bizzare world where Kerry was in a plane crash or something, there is no way that Kucinich would win simply because he was still in the race. The Kerry delegates would be freed up and would likely consider many of the candidates who have now dropped out.
Now, don't get me wrong. Kucinich has every right, as Dean did, to say "Kerry won the nomination, but I'm going to keep bringing my message to the people." But, continuing to campaign for the nomination at this point seems delusional. Surely, this must also hurt his standing in his District, although presumably his seat is safe, and in the House, where it must strain relations with fellow members of Congress who are lining up behind the presumptive nominee.
Can anyone tell me what is going on in the Kucinich camp?
