I'm confused. I'm reading this NYT "analysis" on Obama's cabinet choices. Tell me if you can spot my confusion.
MSNBC.com
WASHINGTON - President-elect Barack Obama won the Democratic nomination with the enthusiastic support of the left wing of his party, fueled by his vehement opposition to the decision to invade Iraq and by one of the most liberal voting records in the Senate.
Now, his reported selections for two of the major positions in his cabinet — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as secretary of state and Timothy J. Geithner as secretary of the Treasury — suggest that Mr. Obama is planning to govern from the center-right of his party, surrounding himself with pragmatists rather than ideologues.
Did you see it?
How the hell does Senator Clinton possibly contribute to making Obama's administration to the center-right? Really? Does Hillary have a right-winged view of foriegn policy? Sure, she voted for the Iraq War, but really, who else did. And i'm not too sure about her current stance on Iran, but I know that when she was in the primary she mentioned it.
I just want an explanation for this, can anyone help me out? In my humble opinion, I think this is utter horseshit, and it's just throwing that narrative out there that we've been hearing. Liberal bias my ass!
