William Kristol, the man who proves that it doesn't require much intelligence or common sense to be a nationally visible pundit, never disappoints. He's been unflinchingly out of touch with facts all decade, he's blabbered endlessly about the Middle East and never gotten anything right, he talked all sorts of nonsense during the general election and he's spent a career clinging to dogmas and fetishes in lieu of reality-based thinking.
And now Professor Bill wants George W. Bush to give the medal of freedom to officials who tortured and wiretapped without warrants.
Personally, I think the deciders, not the ones taking orders, should be tried for crimes, but giving these people the medal of freedom for blatantly violating the Constitution is so absurd only Kristol could suggest it. Either way, here's Think Progress on Kristol on Bush.
A part of me thinks Kristol knows his pundity is full of hot air and does it because he enjoys the publicity his magazine The Weekly Standard gets for his outrageous headlines and statements. This is, after all, a Harvard PhD. And not even a robot who relies on coin flips for punditry can be so wrong, about so much, so often.
