That is the exact quote I heard my little brother say just last night. While playing a rather violent car game on his playstation, my little brother ran over a dark skinned person. The next words I heard come out of his mouth were, "I hit the n*****, I hit Obama!"
If he hadn't been my brother, I would have done more than just yell at him.
My brother is 10 years old, and never in my life have I ever heard him curse. Especially not something that harsh. So judgemental.
This is what society has done to today's children. Or at least the society here in my 95% red state.
Tomorrow is the election, how will all of this hatrid ever change? Even when Obama is elected. It will take centuries to completely rid the world of this 'evil'? Then again, if we don't elect Obama, then nothing will even begin to change. Period.
I sometimes wonder, where am I?
This country, a land of peace, isn't peaceful at all. How society can teach a ten year old boy to descriminate against someone for the color of their skin, simply baffles me.
I want the racism to stop. I want the anger to stop. I want this stupid skin color to mean nothing to anyone.
The color of Barack Obama's skin is pointless to talk about. Does it jeopradize his character? Does it make him less intelligent? Does Barack Obama's skin make him a bad person? I don't think so.
What if Obama had graduated 894th out of 899 in his class?
What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage at the Democratic Convention, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?
What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?
What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorce?
What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident?
What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?
What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to painkillers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?
What if Cindy McCain had graduated from Harvard?
What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?
What if McCain was a more charismatic, eloquent speaker than Obama?
What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included discipline problems and a record of crashing at least three planes?
What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management problem?
What if Michelle Obama’s family had made their fortune from beer distribution?
What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?
This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

Education isn’t everything of course, but this is about the two highest offices in the land as well as our standing in the world. What if things were switched around, think about it. Would the country’s collective point of view be different? If the races were reversed I don’t think we would even have to hold an election, do you?
Tomorrow will be the first time I vote. I turned 18 in August, and I have never been more excited. I am voting tomorrow. But, I am not voting for Barack Obama.
Im voting for my ancestors, people who wanted change in their lifetime, but never received it.
I'm voting for my friend who was killed spontaniously yesterday. Who was, going to vote for Obama.
I'm voting for you. I'm voting for America and everyone here.
I'm voting for the people I love most in this world.
I am voting for the misinformed people like my little brother.
I'm voting for dark skinned people everywhere. Who get killed, abused, or made fun of everyday just because of the color of their skin.
I'm voting for a change. The biggest change that will ever be made in America. The change we are all so afraid of. The change we need.
Yes. We. Can.
Repeat that over to yourself tomorrow. Keep repeating while YOU STAY THE FUCK IN LINE.
