Although the news from the national stage was overwhelmingly positive for Democrats, the state and local winners reflect the fact that Wyoming is still a stronghold for the Republican Party. So I am asking Democrats across the nation one simple question: Will you please move to Wyoming?!!
Seriously, the fact that Wyoming is known for both being Republican AND having a surplus of dinosaur fossils is no coincidence. We need some people who think outside of the big red rectangle.
Here are some good incentives to move:
* Contrary to popular belief, you are NOT required to wear a cowboy hat.
* You could start your own website, for there are many good names that have not been used, including "ProgressiveWyoming.com" or "LiberalWyoming.org".
* You can start your own wind energy company and be a millionaire in just a few years.
* The bulk of your morning commute will be at 75 mph.
* You'll get in-state discount tickets to the Dick Cheney Museum.
In my county, the Republicans swept every position available, including our two US Senators, our sole US House Rep, both State House District positions, a State Senate position, and a County Commissioner seat. In this state, Democratic candidates have the struggle of earning each and every vote, simply for having a "D" behind their name. This year, as in most, we Democrats were simply outnumbered.
I'm drowning in a sea of red, people. Search your souls, you folks living in the solid blue states. They don't need you, they're safe without your vote. C'mon, New Englanders. Let's hear it Washington State. We need you in Wyoming to even things out a bit. Get out of the rat race and join the buffalo herd. What do you say?
