Can we finally throw Joe Lieberman out of the Democratic Caucus? Not 24 hours after his first meeting with Reid and he's already talking with the Republicans.
Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has reached out to Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) about the prospect of joining the Republican Conference, but Lieberman is still bargaining with Democratic leaders to keep his chairmanship, according to Senate aides in both parties.
Apparently Lieberman wants to, as an aide said, "keep his options open."
Well, maybe Reid and the rest of the Senate Democrats should help Joe make up his mind. He spoke at the GOP convention. He campaigned with McCain and trashed Obama more than once. And now he is in talks with Mitch McConnell. How can there be any question about what to do with him?
If he is truly "liberal" on everything but Iraq, then he should vote that way regardless of his party affiliation. Actions have consequences. Lieberman should be expelled from the caucus. Period.
