Back in July, I was disillusioned when Barack Obama didn't lead the democratic caucus in a filibuster of any new FISA bill that included telecom immunity.
I'm not sure why Sen. Obama voted with the republicans, but there seems to be time to prevent immunity from becoming a fait accompli.
Since this issue came to the fore, Ryan Singel at the Threat Level blog has been doing great work. He has a post yesterday about a hearing that will take place on December 2nd. With a successful election day behind us, lets mobilize to help delay this matter until there is a new head of the Department of Justice.
I'm thinking a good place to start is reaching out to our new Senators that didn't have a chance to protect the constitution from Still- President Bush. Any and all suggestions on how to improve this effort are greatly appreciated.
