I have been given a wonderful opportunity this evening and I am struggling with my decision. I live in Georgia and I homeschool my 3 children. In September our virtual school offered a school trip to DC January 19-22. I was very interested but worried what to do if Obama lost. I sure as hell had no interest in watching John McCain and Sarah Palin getting sworn in. So I let the chance pass me by. Now everyone wants to attend the ceremony of the century. I emailed the teacher and inquired if she had any cancellations. And she has ONE room left and it's mine if I want it. Kossacks-I need your advice.
My son is 11 and very mature. We worked our ass off during the last 9 months canvassing, registering voters, and hosted 9 house parties. We had a huge party election night and we were all thrilled. My question is-should we go? It will cost $1500 for 3 of us. This includes transportation, room, tickets to museums, food and other events. I know this is a once in a lifetime event. Should I bite the bullet and put the $1500 on my credit card? Tell me what you think. Can an 11 year old enjoy this event? Let me know what you think.
