Well, not really.
It appears that the Federal prosecutors investigating Gov. Blagojevich's "pay for play" for President-Elect's now vacant seat have confirmed that Jesse Jackson Jr. was Senate Candidate #5
Of course, Mr. Jackson's response is right out of Casablanca (I'm shocked to hear there's gambling at Rick's):
Jackson Jr. said yesterday that he met with Blagojevich Monday "for the first time in years" and voiced his desire to fill Obama's empty Senate seat. He said he was "shocked" by Blagojevich's arrest, adding "if these allegations are proved true, I am outraged by the appalling, pay-to-play schemes hatched at the highest levels of our state government."
If he really is "outraged" at the curruption going on in the governor's administration, then he must have been the only one as the whole state of IL knew that this guy is currupt. But, he has to say what he has to say.
I'm just very happy that President-Elect actually is serious about lessening the influence of money in politics.
