What am I reading?
The Coldest Winter: America in Korea by David Halberstam. Brilliant. History writing doesn't get better than this.
Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett. After my Discworld diary, I decided to read Pratchett's "young adult" novels. I put that in quotes because, except for the fact that the hero is a pre-teen girl, these really are a lot like his other work. First up was The Wee Free Men, then Hatful of Sky, this is the third.
Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas Hofstadter. I am re-reading this. Brilliant work on .... well, a lot of things. I have also started a book series just about this. Introduction. First diary will be on Sunday.
The Drunkard's Walk: How Randomness Rules our Lives by Leonard Mlodinow. I just started this, it was a Hanukkah gift from my wife. I will write some diaries from it, it is relevant here.
The Human Brain Coloring Book My (not so) secret santa gift from my boss. Since we work with brain data, she wants me to know more about the brain.
