And no I not an anti semite. I think Israel has a right to protect itself but the cynic in me suspect some grandstanding an electioneering going on here. The count is now up to 150 dead. Israel gets away with it's heavy handed tactics as long as it at the cost of Palestinian lives. It is my opinion that Israel has no plans of there being any resolution to the Palestine issue, until they have annexed the most of the Palestinian lands. I do defend Israel's right to respond to these mortar attacks but this again reminds the world of the one sided US foreign policies in deference to Israel. This diary is not specific to this one Israel response but more as an opportunity to talk about the big picture.
And in other news Repugs find another way to call Barack a nigger. No wait it's just a song.
Repugs have just released their most recent best selling CD, 'Barack the Magic Negro' now out in stores near you. They managed as best as they could not to call him the 'N' word during the election, at least not by the higher ups or none Palin crowds, but small feats can only last for so long. The Magic Negro is now a best seller, at your nearest GOP retailer.
At least 150 killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza

GAZA CITY (CNN) -- Israeli aircraft launched air attacks across Gaza on Saturday, killing at least 150 people, including the Hamas police chief and other officials, according to Israeli and Palestinian sources.
Palestinian medical sources said 250 people were wounded.
The strikes followed several days of rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel.
A statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Israeli aircraft attacked "a series of Hamas targets and infrastructure facilities."
"The Air Force activity came as a result of the continuation of terror activity by Hamas terror organization from the Gaza Strip, and the duration of rocket launching and targeting Israeli civilians," the IDF statement said.
Hamas immediately threatened violent retaliation against Israel.
RNC chairman candidate defends 'Barack the Magic Negro' song
http://edition.cnn.com/...
CNN) -- A candidate for the Republican National Committee chairmanship said Friday the CD he sent committee members for Christmas -- which included a song titled "Barack the Magic Negro" -- was clearly intended as a joke.
"I think most people recognize political satire when they see it," Tennessee Republican Chip Saltsman told CNN. "I think RNC members understand that."
The song, set to the tune of "Puff the Magic Dragon," was first played on conservative political commentator Rush Limbaugh's radio show in 2007.
Its title was drawn from a Los Angeles Times column that suggested President-elect Barack Obama appealed to those who feel guilty about the nation's history of mistreatment of African-Americans. Saltsman said the song, penned by his longtime friend Paul Shanklin, should be easily recognized as satire directed at the Times.
