News and notes for the Inauguration. Possibly a pissed-off free zone? Please.
Technology meets the Inauguration.
There are several iphone applications available for the inauguration. Most are mainly countdown clocks with little other information, but the latest is sponsored by a law firm and communications firm which identifies local restaurants and Metro spots.

This seems like a fun albeit expensive gift for my traveling companions. Might be fun to have this in their rooms upon check-in.

Parties, Parties, Parties . . . . .
Our group is attending the party put on by the Missouri Democratic Party on Sunday night. We may attend "The Big Shoulders Ball: Chicago Celebrates Change" as my brother-in-law is one of the performers.
There are plenty of ways to part with your money during Inauguration Week. You can buy a "VIP" table at all the hot clubs:

You can attend one of the hundreds of balls. Many you can purchase a ticket in the $300 plus range.

A great piece of news. Everyone who worked on the Obama staff can get two tickets to the Inauguration. This is such a class move from the Obama campaign and I am thrilled for some of the staffers who are headed to D.C. to see the fruits of their labor.
The Washington Post is selling classifieds to welcome President Obama to the White House. The ads will be available online as well as in print on January 20th. I really like this idea and it will be fun memorabilia for my kids to see. Here is a draft of my ad:
