I just finished watching the BBC interview with George W. Bush. Now, I may be a raving liberal, but I try to keep an open mind, and he did manage to spend two terms in the White House.. Plus, I haven't seen him talk since 2004. So, my thoughts on the interview:
- I hate to say it, I honestly do, it's just not right, but.. My god, he really does look like a chimp in a thousand-dollar suit.
- He looks haunted.
- Um. So, the reason he didn't invade Darfur and stop the genocide was: International Aid agencies and people who were worried about the US invading another muslim country talked him out of it. I'm not sure what to think about that.
- He got asked how Clinton has said that he gets sleepless nights over the Rwanda genocide and his lack of action, will GW feel the same over Darfur? Nope! Didn't even have to think that over.
- Talking about Zimbabwe, and he looks frustrated and overwhelmed.
- He's warned people against "elitists" three times now.. He graduated from Andover and Yale, where he was a member of the Skull & Bones Society, how much more elite is there?
- He's pinned all of the Iraq failures on the "previous commanders", who didn't tell him that they needed more troops, and they really should have. But he takes full responsibility, of course.
- It's hard work. Really hard work.
