The invasive illegal domestic spying that Bush began via the NSA high technology BEFORE the Sept. 11 attack on New York City is now compounded by the corporate sector's secret police deputized by the FBI and called INFRAGARD.
Usurper Bush has portrayed his spying as useful to so-called homeland security. ('Homeland' is a Nazi term, by the way; don't use it and substitute 'domestic' instead). But the claims on the usefulness of the unlimited and unregulated NSA (with telecom corporations) spying on our phone calls and computer communications, and rogue InfraGard spying on our actions are just misleading claptrap.
Forget these claims that attempt to legitimize the illegal spying, monitoring, scanning. The cat is out of the bag. These spying schemes exist to CATEGORIZE U.S. citizens, and to identify citizens who oppose corporatist/Christianist fascistic behavior. The head of the FBI speaking to an audience of InfraGard corporate secret FBI deputies, said that InfraGard powers can be used against...
...employees they deem "disgruntled". Ah, so what is this category called "disgruntled" refer to? Employees attempting to unionize perhaps? Or maybe Green Party or Democratic Party members who don't support corporate deregulation or corporate freedom from taxation? Customers wearing political buttons that support the Constitution? THIS IS BAD STUFF.
InfraGard is a secret society. Existing members "recommend" new members. That is just like a private club or a secret society (like the Freemasons or Bush's Skull&Bones!). And our elected representatives have no oversight whatsoever?
InfraGard alrady has 23,000 members now, as reported in Matthew Rothschild's article at Progressive Magazine.
Here I ask Democratic legislators if Congress is looking into InfraGard's activities which are occurring completely out of the legislators' control, created without the legislators' knowledge.
This unlimited domestic spying and categorizing of citizens must stop; it is unacceptable in a free society.
I want proof in the Dem Party platform that the Dems are committed to reversing these violations of our national security -- because that's what these secret Bush programs are! Anything that UNDERMINES our free society is a threat to our national security!
That Dems in the Senate already have facilitated Bush in preserving the NSA domestic spying program through retroactive exoneration already shows that the Dem Party is FAILING to rein in the FASCIST BUSH advances!
The Dems and their candidates have to prove they are for a free society, prove they are for preserving every part of our free society -- and that means being for PRESERVING our privacy and Constitutionally explicit protections!
HOPE IS NOT ENOUGH for me! I want PROOF of the Dem commitment! I want a clear action from the Dems before the Convention; I want proof that the DEMS are dedicated to RESTORING what Bush has removed, and dismantling the repressive institutions Bush has created. We need proof, for example, a SUCCESSFUL move to restore Habeus Corpus. No half-baked atttempts allowed! If we don't get at least HABEUS CORPUS reinstated before the Dem Convention convenes, will Dem voters be willing to bolt the Dem Party in search of an alternative to the Dems on Election Day?
P.S. If you take one thing away from this diary, let it be the realization that you are being spied on for a reason: Those doing the spying want to categorize you in order to control you. This isn't about mere monitoring and scanning for 'bad guys'; they don't need to violate every Americans' privacy to accomplish that. We are in new territory now; and the people must demand legislators and public servants who use the compass of the Constitution to get us out of our dangerous kidnapping into Bush land.
