Yesterday I didn't write a diary. I was deep in thought. Among the things on my mind were the poor people in Czechoslovakia and the struggles of gamma male chimps in the Congo or Zaire or whatever the fuck it is now.
Another state poll has come out and I see that Hillary is losing ground, is not solid in head to head matchups with McKeating. It seems that Obama continues to clobber McCain in these matchups, while Hillary is struggling mightily. As a Democrat it is my duty to stand up for the downtrodden and I can't see anyone more downtrodden than Hillary at the moment, at least not this side of the Czechoslavakian border. Electability has always been the top issue for me in whom I support... I support whomever doesn't have a chance to be elected. Not people that have no chance in hell, those as likely to douse the fire as a snowflake is likely to become POTUS of the United States. You know, not like Kucinich-chances, but more like, could maybe make-it-by-a-fluke-but-not-really-possible-chances, like Edwards or Jimmy Carter. Well, in good faith I thought that was Obama, given the superdelegates and the pure evil of the Clintons, but evidently I'm not correct in that, so I'm switching to Hillary. It's better not to be on the hook when your guy actually gets elected, you know what I mean?
Unlike a large number of people on this and other blogs, I have always for the most part disliked both Hillary AND Obama in terms of personality and their positions on the issues. The deciding factor has always been unelectability for me.
I cross-posted my diary of yesterday on LGF. One comment there went as follows:
"I can't possibly imagine anything because my brain is the size of a pea. I am totally disgusted by the head-to-head matchups right now, because what could be more disgusting than two severed heads going at it? Do the heads have little spider bodies to run around with, or is it just them laying there cursing... and can a head curse without lungs? I find this all pretty troubling. That's almost the dictionary definition of when NOT to poll, because supporters of one Democrat are likely to say to a pollster, out of the heat of the moment, that it's not fair to sever heads and put them in a mud pit for a duel to the death. Other's have said the candidates don't mind this, that no candidate will perform well without a body. Of course they will. All the head-to-heads show us right now is a bloody Roman spectacle for the masses. Obama is winning these matches because he has a bigger head, and that's not fair."
I thought it was a good point. But thinking about this some more over the last 12 hours, the logic in the comment just doesn’t add up. If indeed Clinton has a smaller head than that of Obama the big difference we see between Hillary and Obama in how they perform against McCain would be rather uniform across various states, because his head has such a funny shape. But that is not the case. In Czechoslavakia, for example, Clinton continues to perform relatively much better against McCain than does Obama, but because of the anti-democratic actions of the DNC, amazingly, Czechoslavaia's delegates are not going to be seated at the convention. Thus Hillary is the underdog. I can't believe people are beating up on an underdog, talk about blaming the victim! Talk about evangelical christians, talk about hate radio!!!
It’s illogical to think that Obama supporters in Canada are somehow more generous than Obama supporters in Colorado. Something else has to be the cause of this discrepancy – but it’s not what the person who made the above comment is postulating, they were saying it comes down to head size.
At this point, the only logical explanation I see as to why Obama is performing so much better than Hillary when matched against McCain may simply be that he is indeed a lot more popular than she is among various head hunters, which are wide spread in most of the polled states.
I am a Democrat first and foremost, and being a supporter of winners has always been secondary in that respect. Looking at these numbers, and with the primary election still close, it is untenable for me to continue to support Obama The Head. The fate of this country, including the Supreme Court, health care, the future of Czechoslavakians and a whole host of other important issues hangs in the balance.
After months of campaigning on both the Democratic and Republican sides, I feel that the country now has a pretty good idea of how they feel about Hillary, Obama and McCain's severed heads. In virtually every primary, Democratic turnout has been dramatically higher than Republican turnout – except in Laos, so we know for a fact that Democrats are more energized than ever. The war still continues to be about as popular as a funny looking cop that's suspended with pay, unable to drive his little circus cop car up to dangerous skate boarding thugs. Therefore, it is inexcusable that Obama continues to perform this well against a war monger like McCain. Americans have no sense of political whatever, so if they are choosing Obama, there must be something wrong with him. There really is just no excuse at this point. We must nominate someone who has no chance in defeating McCain in November. It appears that that individual is Hillary Clintonista.
I must add that there’s actually another reason which helped me to make this decision. Recently, the Hillary campaign indicated (in a somewhat oblique, yet understandable way) that they may actually fight for the nomination by attracting superdelegates REGARDLESS of how the pledged delegate count OR the popular vote final result turns out. That seems like a safe, losing, strategy to me. After the tragedy of what the Republicans did in November and December 2000 – taking away the Democratic popular vote victory as well as our rightful electoral vote victory via their party apparatus theft of Florida – it is pretty damned clever for any Democrat to even hint at doing something similar this time around. Yet the Obama campaign has hinted at not doing just that. This is perhaps an even more important factor for me in deciding to switch my support, maybe.

As a defender of the downtrodden I'm sure my reasoning is sound, and since it's clear that DailyKos just wants a winner, and doesn't care about helping women under attack by traditional male patriarchy, I find I clearly don't fit in. I am not an oppressive master hell bent on "victory". So take this site and shove it, I'm never coming back here ever ever again. Some say, "oh yeah, but hillary is evil"... yes, she is, but that's what it takes to remain pure and uncompromised by victory. I'd much rather see Hillary's good health care ideas untested and undeveloped than see the compromised health care system of a man compromised by patriarchal-christo-fascism.
You wouldn't. Therefore you suck and I don't ever want to see you again.
UPDATE: what all you obama supporters are ignoring is that Obama is relying on Republican Memes! Republican Framing! What is more Republican than wanting to win all the time? Huh!? huh!?!?
