Wow – this woman gets it when it comes to the things that keep working folks up at night. Take a look at her new ad in Ohio...
The rust belt states are hurting and this ad speaks to each and every one of us who’ve lain awake at night worrying about that car repair bill we weren’t expecting and can’t pay, paying our mortgage, keeping our job in these uncertain times, paying for childcare, finding and paying for health care, funding our kids’ college funds, setting aside something for retirement, paying the heating bill, putting food on the table, school clothes / shoes / winter boots for the kids... The list goes on and on and on and Hillary’s the one candidate who understands all that.
She talks with us. She listens. And she’ll take our stories and our voices with her and make them her own if we’re smart enough to send this woman to the White House.
Make the jump – you know you want to...
Hillary’s just put out a press release about this ad – take a look...
NEW OHIO AD: Hillary Will Stand Up For Hardworking Families Who Are Too Often Overlooked
COLUMBUS, OH- Hillary outlines her commitment to stand up for hardworking Ohioans who are too often overworked, underpaid and overlooked in a new ad airing statewide in Ohio today.
The 30- second television spot titled "Night Shift," outlines Hillary’s agenda to provide all American families with access to quality, affordable health care, increased day care and help with elder care.

Following is a script for "Night Shift."
[Announcer:] You pour coffee, fix hair, you work the night shift at the local hospital. You're often overworked, underpaid, and sometimes overlooked.
But not by everyone.
One candidate has put forth an American family agenda to make things easier for everyone who works so hard.
Universal healthcare.
Increased daycare.
And help with elder health care.
She understands. She's worked the night shift, too.
[HRC:] I'm Hillary Clinton and I approved this message
Hillary’s getting some help from her friends in Ohio. The campaign announced today that Hillary’s got the backing of another Ohio super delegate and former Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell.
Former Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell Endorses Clinton
Trailblazing Mayor Backs Clinton’s Historic Presidential Bid
COLUMBUS OH- Ohio for Hillary today, announced the endorsement of former mayor of Cleveland, Jane Campbell. Campbell will work to mobilize support for Clinton throughout Ohio.
"America is at a crossroads and Senator Hillary Clinton is the only presidential candidate with a proven record of making positive change to deliver real solutions on day one," said Campbell. "She understands that our country was built on the backs of the working class and she will work everyday to ensure that all Americans have an equal opportunity to reach their full potential. I am honored to help Senator Clinton in Ohio and on her road to the White House."
"Jane has dedicated her career to improving the lives of others and standing up for those whose voices are seldom heard," said Clinton. "I am proud to have her support as we take our message of change across Ohio."
Jane Campbell served in the Ohio House of Representatives as a majority whip and later an assistant minority leader. In 2001, she won the Cleveland Mayoral election becoming Cleveland’s first female mayor.
She’s also getting help from her number one supporter - former President Bill Clinton in the Buckeye State, Mgee posted this diary over on MyDD and it’s a great little write-up of a campaign event with Bill Clinton in Marietta Ohio last night. Seems it drew huge crowds from both Ohio and West Virginia. A local paper had this to say about it...
Thousands of people from West Virginia and Ohio stood in a snaking line on the sidewalks of Marietta College Sunday evening waiting to hear what former President Bill Clinton had to say as he was in town speaking on behalf of his presidential-candidate wife, Hillary.
And after the event
The need to reform health care and education were among the key topics the former president discussed. The economy, including new energy ideas, and plans for Iraq rounded out the speech.
"Raise you hand if you know someone without health care," Clinton said, as every hand in the auditorium went up. "This is the only wealthy country in the world where you can get that response."
Clinton said his wife is the only presidential candidate with the right health care plan for the nation. He said citizens will have the ability to keep their current health care or to join a universal coverage plan.
A local news station covered the event and you can see a video clip of it here. Looks like they had a great crowd at this event! Or you can download audio files of the speeches here.
A few days ago, Hillary put out a press release on Ohio’s foreclosure rates. I’m guessing things are nearly as bad there as they are back home in Michigan – take a look...
Hillary Clinton Statement on Troubling Ohio Foreclosure Data
"A troubling study released this morning shows that Cleveland, Akron, Dayton and Toledo are among the 20 communities with the highest foreclosure rates in the country.
Last year 90,000 households in Ohio received foreclosure notices. These devastating statistics underscore the urgent need for bold action to end the housing crisis that is ruining the financial stability of millions of families and pushing our economy towards recession. Even families not at risk of losing their homes are affected as foreclosures add pressure to house prices. Families have already lost an estimated $1.6 trillion from the drop in home prices. We cannot jumpstart our economy without ending the foreclosure crisis.
I am the only candidate with a comprehensive plan to end the foreclosure crisis. For months I have been advocating a 90-day foreclosure moratorium on subprime, owner-occupied homes and a 5-year freeze in rates on subprime adjustable rate mortgages. I have called for $30 billion in assistance to states and communities to help them fight foreclosures and offset the costs associated with mounting vacancies. I have introduced the Mortgage Refinancing Initiative Act to empower state housing agencies to spend $10 billion to convert unworkable mortgages into loans families can afford. I have also introduced the Home Ownership Preservation Act that expands foreclosure prevention initiatives and cracks down on mortgage-related fraud.
America needs a president who leads-not follows-when economic challenges arise; a president who sees trouble on the horizon and moves swiftly to confront it. In these tough economic times, we can't afford anything less. Like the Bush administration, Senator Obama has expressed skepticism about my housing proposal. But I hope that like the Bush administration, which is belatedly adopting portions of my plan, Senator Obama too will eventually acknowledge that it is the right approach."

A lot of people are facing the very real possibility of losing everything they’ve worked for because of predatory lending practices that lead to foreclosures – Hillary’s out there talking about this and offering real solutions to this every single day and she won’t give up until she finds a way to fix this broken system.
Just like she’ll take on the need to fix our broken health care system and bring a truly universal health care plan to the table.
Just like she’ll get to work on day one to bring our troops home starting within 60 days of her taking the oath of office.
Just like she’ll work night and day to rebuild the middle class and lift all of us up.
And just like she’ll work to develop green collar jobs that will help us break our addiction to fossil fuels.
But none of this will happen without a lot of hard work and the experience to make get the job done.
We have a choice guys – and Hillary will map it out for us in an upcoming speech tomorrow in Youngstown Ohio. Take a look at an excerpt released by her campaign today...
Hillary Clinton Speech Excerpts Preview Major Address
Below are excerpts of Hillary Clinton’s prepared remarks she will deliver in Youngstown, Ohio tonight. In her remarks, Hillary will preview a major address she will deliver tomorrow morning at Hunter College in New York focused on the choice Americans face in this election.
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
Speech Excerpts
Rally in Youngstown, OH
February 19, 2008
...Tonight, I want to talk about the choice you have in this election – and why that choice matters....
...This election is not about me or my opponent. It’s about you. Your lives, your dreams, your future.
Right now, too many people are struggling. Working the day shift, the night shift, trying to get by without health care, just one paycheck away from losing their homes. They cannot afford four more years of a president who just doesn’t see or hear them.
They need a president ready on day one to be commander in chief. Ready to manage our economy. And ready to beat the Republicans this November.
I will be that president.
This is the choice we face:
One of us is ready to be commander in chief in a dangerous world...
...One of us has a plan to provide health care for every single American – no one left out....
...Finally, one of us has faced serious Republican opposition in the past. And one of us is ready to do it again. The contrast between me and our likely opponent couldn’t be more stark. John McCain is willing to continue the war in Iraq for 100 years – I will start bringing troops home in 60 days. He admits he doesn’t understand the economy -- I have a plan to turn our economy around and create five million new jobs. He wants eight years more of the same – I’ll deliver 21st century solutions to move this country forward again.
Both Senator Obama and I would make history. But only one of us is ready on day one to be commander in chief, ready to manage our economy, and ready to defeat the Republicans. Only one of us has spent 35 years being a doer, a fighter and a champion for those who need a voice. That is what I would bring to the White House. That is the choice in this election.
...It’s about picking a president who relies not just on words – but on work, hard work, to get America back to work. Someone who’s not just in the speeches business – but will get America back in the solutions business...
The following video was posted to YouTube on March 8th. Here, Hillary talks about all the people who’ve logged on and sent her what they could – check it out...
The support and love just poured into the campaign when word got out that Hillary needed our help. They raised over 13 million dollars and the vast majority of that money was donated on line by 135,000 people who’d never donated before.
Well gang she still needs to know we’ve got her back. She’s got a fight on her hands but I remain ever confident that this is a good investment, and if we step up to the plate for her now, she’ll carry the day on March 4th in Ohio and in Texas.
So come on – dig deep and send her some love will ya?
DONATE NOW!
Together we’ve raised thousands of dollars via my HillRaisers link – and I know I can count on you now to step up and let Hillary know we’re still counting on her to keep fighting the good fight.
