No, I don't have any source for this except my own conjecture, but the Obama campaign just released the updated numbers from January. If you remember, the whole uproar about $32 million in one month came with about 2 days actually left in the month. None of the pundits seemed to care, but most of us where able to consider that the real number had to be higher by the end of the calendar month.
Well, it turns out that the real number is $36 million. Now, assuming that they can release or not release this information whenever they want (and I could be wrong, in which case this diary is more then useless), why would they do it now if they were not going to pull in at least that kind of cash the next month? If they were on track to raise less then $36 million this month, wouldn't it be better to have that compared to a smaller number from the previous month? Momentum is everything, and it's only a story in February if it's more then January.
