The Associated Press reports this morning that Senator Russ Feingold is "poised to endorse" Senator Barack Obama for President. Feingold is a superdelegate to the Democratic National Convention.
Feingold told the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram that he's "highly inclined" to vote for Obama. He says that he was impressed with Obama's winning margin in Wisconsin as well as the energy of the campaign.
Feingold also said that McCain would make a good president, but he prefers either Democratic candidate on policy grounds.
In previous interviews, Feingold said he would likely take direction in how he would vote at the convention from the primary results in Wisconsin. Feingold is a possible vice presidential choice for the Democratic presidential nominee.
