Lots has been said and written about the NY Times story of McCain and the Lobbyist, sounds like a Danielle Steele book, but there was another news report that no one was talking about.
By now everyone has heard or read the NY Times story about John McCain and the blond lobbyist. The story was front page and interjected that there was something sleazy about the the relationship, fronm a sexual one to one where he used his influence with the Commerce Committee. The story has unnamed sources and is thin on sources. The story is that the lobbyist resembles the first and second wife of McCain. Still do not know what that has to do with the story, but it is there.
McCain has held a press conference to deny that there was anything inappropriate in their relationship. The female lobbyist has also said that the story is nothing more than sleazy journalism.
Now I personally, would say that if there is more to this story than just taking a shot at McCain, then the NY Times needs to explain what it is. Another question is why run this story now? The side story is that they have been holding this story since December of 2007.
But while this "non-story" is playing out in the media and all pundits are arguing either pro or con, another story comes out. But no one is listening. Why? Sex sells! That is why the jest of the article in the NY times is that McCain had an affair with this lobbyist. What is the other story? Wheels come off the "straight talk express".
McCain has been an outspoken opponent of the use of torture. Today, McCain has asked Pres. Bush to veto the measure that would ban the use of waterboarding and other such techniques. This is the real story, you idiots! McCain is flip-flopping on the torture issue which was one of his signature stands in these primaries. Let me say that again for you.......McCain has asked Pres. Bush to veto the measure that would ban waterboarding.....Do you understand now?
This whole lobbyist episode is just not worth the paper it is printed on. And so far not many media outlets are reporting the suggestion that McCain has made to the president. It would be suicide to use the lobbyist against him. But the real ammo in this war of politics is the fact that he is now flip-flopping on the torture issue. Does that mean that he now wants to keep Gitmo open as well?
Come on idiots, let the sex thing go and focus on what is important. The "straight talk express" is NO longer. Just look at how pathetic the mainstream media is, a whole day of pure BS on sex and nothing on a failure of a major plank in the McCain platform. Sex sells!
