this smear includes some very intense and egregiously unsubstantiated claims about an anti-Israel speech he gave at his also-often-unfairly-smeared churchsome entirely unsubstantiated discussion of a 'anti-israel' speech he gave at his church, and other items that could be of interest.
" Will Barrack's [sic] Muslim roots cause him to favor the Palestinians against Israel? Because he's a "person of color," will Obama be more sympathetic to 3rd World Peoples' struggles in that they have "darker skin" like him? Does Obama distrust the lighter-skinned, more "European"-looking Israelis and tend to favor the "darker complexioned" Palestinians and other Arabs (al Qaeada? [sic]) because his Muslim African father and cousins?"
Let's Rec this and keep reminding people about this stuff, because it's not just the same thing, exactly, this time round. Now, we have elements in the letter (follow link) suggesting that
--- because Barack looks more like the terrorists than he looks like most americans, he wouldn't pursue terrorists properly, or something to that effect---- anyway - it's bad stuff.
I'm not sure if this email smear campaign has been posted about already, but it is dastardly - and it is desperate. In my opinion, seeing this stuff provides solace to those worried about Obama getting attacked by the opposition in ways that will meaningfully hurt the campaign. I mean, this kind of stuff is lunacy, and I think to most comes across as such, right? Wouldn't you think that even the 'fringe' smear campaigns would be a little more effectively devised and targeted and articulated?
Please Rec this diary so there's a chance more will see it and have the chance to recognize that just because we're on a roll and/or on our way to the nomination, it doesn't mean that right-wing efforts to redefine Barack and his candidacy are not already afoot, widespread, and, as I said above, dastardly.
In any event, the email and the brief discussion of it are worth a look.
