Granny Doc wrote a very interesting diary on the Elvisization of opinions: Opinion is King baby. Yeah, thank you, thank you very much.
While I agree in large part with the essay, I couldn't help but be reminded of a common theme that always comes back to hunt Democrats, especially on election cycles.
And that theme is of course an entity that can barely be named, a force so vile that the mere contact with its corrupting power causes utter destruction of moral fibers in the heartland. I'm about to reveal the identity of that entity (Now that was a mouthful), so in the name of all that is holy, hide your pooties and children away, because that entity is...
...the Liberal Elite. It's easy to forget that when you're among people who have the common attribute of having more than 2 functioning brain cells in the noggin, which is the case on DK, the majority of people doesn't work that way. It's pretty clear that 99.9% of people reading and contributing to this site are high-level information seekers. And while you may not understand everything that is discussed for one reason or another, you all share a common trait: Curiosity. We all know that curiosity killed the cat named Ignorance, and made you very suspicious in the eyes of people who have a short supply of it.
The majority of the US, and probably the world live in the state described in this hilarious video that you probably saw a million times:
I kind of associate this video with another US plague: Obesity. Most guys could have this physique:
But right now, this is what's really happening:
Why? Laziness is of course a big factor, inertia is such a comfortable state after all. But there is something else.
Granny Doc wrote this in her diary:
As Progressives we want, we fight, we vote, to include everybody in the process. But after an hour and a half of listening to the abject stupidity on parade this morning, I'm wondering where we went wrong.
Well, the truth is, you did not go wrong. The Shangri-Las had a song called "Leader of the Pack" in the early 60's, and that's basically how it is with the rest of the population at large: One will rise for every dozens who will follow. You had the drive to educate yourself, stay informed and look like Kelly Slater pictured above? Great, you became a leader of the pack. You touched the black monolith.
Unfortunately, yes, you are far outnumbered by the people who don't have this innate ability to better themselves, no matter the reason, and this fact can have disastrous consequences. The human race might have bigger brains, but in the end, we're still just a bunch of apes. A bunch of apes who take "and the meek shall inherit the earth" way too seriously, awaiting this amazing price while going with the flow.
Now, go back to Hollywood, you librul elite scums!
