Two stories hit me today - one about the FBI deputizing people in private industry ("InfraGard") with the right to shoot to kill in the US in the case of martial law. The other about the arrests of 13 people in Turkey on charges of leading a rebellion - people related to the "Deep State" which is also related to the Gladio operations of the CIA.

My fears below the fold...
My fear is that we are starting to turn the FBI on its own citizens in the same way that the CIA works in the rest of the world. People are brought into the InfraGard network by being sponsored (like the CIA would bring an asset into the fold). As private companies with access to information, they can effectively do the work that the US government can't (not like its stopped them) pass on the information and while the material could not be used in court, it could be used to then gather a warrant, or be used as part of a declaration of "unlawful combatant". Members of InfraGard are spys - spys on their own people. Spies looking out for lefties like you and me.
Which brings me to Operation Gladio and the Turkey story. These were people that did violent things all in the name of protecting Europe from "communist invasion". They were recruited from military (in the case of Turkey) or from existing networks of pro-right groups. In Italy, a group, much like InfraGard, called the DSSA, a parallel police group was revealed in 2005. There are those that think this group is another Gladio operation rearing its ugly head. Something similar to "the death squads of Argentina".
US agencies are the cause of so much violence in the world and now we get more violence against our own people. Violent state, Violent world, Violent people. And for what?
I'm liking Dennis Kucinich's Department of Peace idea more and more.
