The sidebar about Geraldine Ferraro remains a storyline--thanks to Ms Ferraro insisting on pouring more gasoline on the fire.
Obama should use this opportunity to demand that Hillary Reject and Denounce Ms. Ferraro's remarks, and dismiss her from the staff.
Hillary's crew made great noise about Louis Farrakhan's "endorsement" of Obama, and insisted on the above terms: Reject and Denounce. Obama rose to the challenge and did so on a nationally televised debate, and did so with class.
And Farrakhan didn't even have the slightest connection to the Obama campaign.
Obama needs to step up, and make this a clear demand for clear action. Then watch Hillary struggle with how to dodge the issue. Because it's obvious she views this as expedient--if she didn't, we'd already have the press release about Ferraro's dismissal.
If Hillary doesn't respond by Rejecting AND Denouncing Ms. Ferraro's, it's yet another double standard from her campaign. That's ammunition Obama can use well in the coming weeks. Time to say it again--she can't have it both ways. Best of all, it continues to be a message that keeps his tone consistent.
