This is for everyone, but especially if you live in Congressional District 7 in Florida. We need to elect Democrats on all levels if we truly want change.
On March 19th 2008, we will enter the sixth year of the Iraq war. We have lost almost 4,000 American Soldiers and an untold number of Iraqi citizens have been killed.
We are all aware now that lies got us into this war and incompetence and corruption have kept us there. Faye Armitage, who is running for John Mica’s Congressional seat in District 7, supports a withdrawal plan that will get us out of Iraq responsibly. Faye, unlike her opponent, supports the majority of Americans who want to end this war. John Mica backs the Bush-McCain war and wants an endless occupation of a foreign country.
Admiral William Fallon, who just resigned as the Mideast Military Chief, didn’t believe the Iraq War was making us safer. He also thought that it was a drain on the war in Afghanistan. Fallon said that he was not alone, "There are several of us trying to put the crazies back in the box.", to prevent the U.S. from also attacking Iran.
The United States cannot continue losing lives and treasury or sacrifice the security of our Country. The Iraq war is not making us safer, but it is creating more enemies.
Nobel Prize winning Economist, Joseph E. Stiglitz , in his new book, "The Three Trillion Dollar War", says that the Iraq War will cost us 12 billion a month this year. That is borrowed money and we are getting a negative return on our investment.
"The money wasted on the war could be used to improve the lives of Americans by investing in green technology and the bio-medical industry, improving our schools and finding a solution to our healthcare crisis." says Faye Armitage
We need to start focusing on rebuilding our infrastructure or we will be in danger of losing our competitive edge in the world. Faye Armitage is determined not to let that happen.
