In teh 2006 cycle there was a weekly diary posting asking people to promote their candidate. The name of the diary had certain terms that have fallen out of favor with some Kossacks and in the mains trem media ("pimp your candidate" was it's name) so this is my (sad?) attempt to mimick what was done with a more open name (unless Dick Clark is deeply out of favor in dKos land for his role in "Bowling for Columbine" in which case the title has to go back to the drawing board).
At any rate, below in the comments is your space to promote your (NON PRESIDENTIAL) candidate. I figure the Daily Kos community needs to start becoming aware of the congressional, state and possibly even local candidates that deserve our interest and support (be it volunteer or financial). Hat tip to Thereisnospoon and his diary from yesterday that got me to finally try posting this... It's time for Candidate Bandstand!
So I guess it's best I get this started by posting a little bit about a candidate I support.... There's a conflict of interest because at the moment I've been recruited by one of the guys primary rivals to re-design their web site but none the less, I admire this guys positions.
In Fl-09 Mike van Hoek got my attention while researching candidate positions on gas. I wrote a diary about each candidate's take on the sisue and ti was Mike who presented things in a progressive way. While his chief two rivals are more establishment candidates, Mike doesn't hide his party affiliation nor his stances through code words and phrases that leave things wide open.

My opoint of this diary wasn't so much to promote van Hoek as-so-much start presenting candidates (other than Obama and Clinton) to the masses. Use the bandstand to talk about the congressional and legislative candidates of your choice.
