I'm sorry Obama. Although some Democrats might forgive you, even make excuses for you, when you lie to the American people but throw granny under the bus, well you might as well move to Cuba.
Not even Oprah's minions are happy about this one...and I'm sure there's much more to come (from my lips to God's ears )

(He did pretty deftly, btw. A textbook Sales 101 job, brilliantly carried out, although he threw his grandmother under the bus...pretty classless move.)

And this means what? Seriously what does it mean?
I both saw the speech and read it and do not get any sense other than that he is honoring his grandmother.
I believe the phrase "throwing granny under the bus" is language lifted directly from people acting in bad faith. Joe Scarborough & Rush Limbaugh for a couple of examples. And once again goes directly to Obama’s point. Although you or I might choose to use a different metaphor or tactic to discuss the issues he was discussing the point is not the metaphor but the topic at hand. Complaining about "throwing granny under the bus" is exactly the kind of kill the messenger to avoid discussing important issues which Obama is critiquing in the speech. Ignoring his points or talking about how he is a politician or a thrower under the busser goes directly to our national predisposition to focus on Lewinsky’s dress or Clinton’s cackle instead of honoring the discussion.
All of us are better than this.
