Yes I'm the world famous concern troll. I'm the one who rains on the Yes We Can parade, so if you're looking for another feel-good Obama diary, don't read this...I'm tired of the "thanks for your concern" comments, so if that's going to be your plan, go read another "Obama is amazing" or "Hillary is a neocon" diary...this one isn't for you.
I decided to go forth and get out of Hillary supporters why they won't vote for Obama in November...oh there are plenty. Two weeks ago, I wrote a diary about one of my closest friends who supports Hillary and doesn't like Obama. In the comments section, someone wrote "As long as she supports Obama in the general"
She won't. She's amongst the quotes I list here. They are all hardcore Democrats or liberals (one friend of mine is liberal but has never voted before). None of them ever had positive feelings for Bush, none of them supported the war. This is a fact that I would swear on my mother's life.
Alright, go ahead if you can stand it...it's not pretty.
on healthcare;
My biggest problem with Obama is his lack of experience and he's immature. He's only been around since 2004. Hillary has been out there fighting for issues that matter to me for a long time. What makes Obama think he can just come out and run for President with no experience? What arrogance? It's as if he just graduated college and now wants to be CEO of General Electric. I'm not trusting the party to a neophyte.
Obama's health care plan is not universal. Anything short of univeral is not progressive.
Obama's campaign has been trying to kneecap Hillary rather than make the case for him.The way for Obama to get more votes now would be to give specifics.
What world is Obama in? Does he not realize the cost of healthcare and why it must be mandated for all? He either has no brains or he's a consumate liar. He won't even discuss his healthcare plan and when he does, he fumbles over every word.
On why NAFTA was ok;
Clinton created 8 million new jobs, most of these happened post-NAFTA. Unemployment was at 4%. The average income of the bottom 50% increased, even after adjusting for inflation. Trade with Mexico and Canada increased by 120% in the 10 yrs after NAFTA. What's the problem with NAFTA?
Yes, amazingly enough there are Democrats who think NAFTA was a good thing.
On Dkos;
All I keep hearing is Hillary must drop out or she's hurting the party. Am I just supposed to line up behind Obama? I'm voting this year because I like Hillary and now I'm being told I'm a Bush enabler supporting a ruthless vindictive woman with no character? Well, they can all go f*ck themselves. I only turned out this year because of Hillary, if she wasn't running, I wouldn't have cared who Obama was. They want me as a Democrat? Stop questioning MY character because of who I support.
We are not going to be bullied into supporting Barack Obama. Didn't he already say his supporters wouldn't vote for Hillary...didn't he say that when she still had a chance to win, as you would say, legit. If you can't win without people like me, then you should've thought of that before you insulted me because I support Hillary.
On SCOTUS:
Well maybe Obama supporters shoulda thought of the Supreme Court before they insulted us. Now they want to beg for our votes because of the Supreme Court. I never plan on having an abortion anyway.
On the economy;
Hillary is stronger on the economy. This election needs to be run on the economy. Hillary is a strong counterweight to McCain on the economy. Obama is weak on the economy, so is McCain, so the next issue is National Security and neither can beat him on that issue.
on Rev. Wright;
If Obama and his supporters don't see the problem Wright has caused him, then I'm going to take a sedative and go to bed early on election night.
From an Edwards supporter who is flirting with McCain (I know, I was shocked too);
As much as I hate the bitch, she was right to mock him about the heavens opening and the light coming down. Obama supporters seem to live in this fantasyland where America is rational and will vote rationally. He walks around in this arrogant mist and his supporters just expect words to unite the party...and when he loses who will they blame? Hillary? the media? Of course, not themselves. They're always right! It has to be someone else's fault!
Another Edwards supporter;
Hillary is right that McCain has the experience and has crossed the threshold. That's why we should've nominated Edwards.
The scariest line I've heard yet came from a Democratic friend of mine, supporter of Hillary, who was against the war when it began;
If I was voting on Iraq, I'd have to vote McCain. He's the only one with a realistic plan
and you wonder why I'm a concern troll.
