Living in Georgia, you see and hear a lot of crazy things. I'm originally from Boston, MA, but have been here for ten years, so I thought I had seen and heard it all. A few weeks ago, before the GA primary, I was having lunch, sitting at the bar, where I have become friends with a lady who eats there as well. The discussion went to who we were supporting, I said Barack Obama, and she said that she votes Republican. Which was not a shock since the majority of business people in GA vote Republican, so I generally assume their guilty of being a Republican, unless they prove otherwise. Well the shocking part is this... She said to me, "I do not believe that Senator Clinton should even be running." I thought that she was going to say something about her policies, or some other Republican talking point.
What she said probably should not have been a shock to me but was. She said that, "I just don't think Women are qualified to be Leaders, I think that that's a man's job." I looked at her and noticed that she saw the shock on my face. I said to her that I was sad to hear that, and that I have NEVER actually heard anyone say that before. After that statement, I realized it that my logic was not going to change her mind, so I left it as I don't agree with you but you are entitled to your opinion. Coming from Boston, I have worked for women, and always have known strong independent women, (many of them much smarter than me)who could easily rule the world. When I saw this clip, it was further evidence that there are more people that think this way, than I thought.
