Now of course this ticket would be the sum of all fears for bigots in this country (well there's not woman on it so it's the 3/4ths of all fears), but I have been following the chatter, the intrigue, and the signs. It appears that there is a Medici like struggle in-front and behind the scenes in the Democratic primary, and I have a feeling Bloomberg has a lot to do w/it
Has Bloomberg had to spill blood to get what he wants, is he going to spill blood to achieve a goal (of helping Americans in the worst finical crisis since the depression)
My thoughts/ baseless conjecture after the jump
We all know that Bloomberg did polling of some type for a couple of months. We were assuming (based on media framing) that Bloomberg's polls were about his run for the presidency. Some people on Kos even mention being polled by this Bloomberg outfit.
An example of MSM framing of Bloomberg
http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/...
This is despite the fact that local NY papers never really framed Bloomberg as simply seeking the presidency.
What if these polls were really do illustrate Obama's weak spots, and contrast them with Bloomberg's strong demographics? Bloomberg may not be able to inspire the young voters, but he may have information that shows he can stir up older voters. Overall Bloomberg polled weakly against McCain, Hillary, and Obama, but again those were polls that were released, and we do not know what demographic he drew, and who Bloomberg drew from.
Bloomberg draws a lot of media attention, as we saw with the voting issue in New York, he may have used that to again illustrate the point that when he speaks the media listens (the media seems to have a New York bias).
Here is an example.

Just as some journalist seem to have great affection for Hillary, there seems to be a strong love of Bloomberg by many journalist and pundits as well. Could Bloomberg have used that to his advantage?
In addition, Richard Parsons (former chairman of the board of Time Warner, and someone who is still on the board) is supposedly one of Bloomberg's best friends. Obviously, Richard might be able to have some power over stations like CNN. It is also rumored that Richard may run for mayor after Bloomberg.
It has been mentioned that Bloomberg does not have love for the Clintons.
"Hillary should pray I get in the race," he cracked, "because that would help her."
A joke, or a joking threat? It is hard to say, based on the material I have read; Bloomberg does not appear to have any real love for Hillary. Pat Buchanan (who of course in my opinion is an anti -Semite) seems to think Bloomberg could and would swift boat Hillary. (Here is the link, remember Pat's a loon but he does get things right sometimes).
Even at his own bi-partisan summit, many there praised Obama, which struck me as very odd considering the media and Bloomberg claimed that he was running for president.

I also think Bloomberg plays politics, and he knows both sides (since he was a Republicans and a Democrat). I think there are probably certain tools that Bloomberg has/and will utilize that Obama will not. You can infer what those tools are.
The Daily News said Bloomberg, on the other hand, attempted to downplay such reports Friday when he told a radio show host "nobody is going to ask me."
Good read on what happned the day after he "dropped out". Now I take that quote to sugest that Bloomberg will maneurver to make sure that he is the VP. Bloomberg is a fighter.

I do not want to make allegations, but there does seem (IMHOP) to be something going on behind the scenes and Bloomberg does seem to be a big part of it. At the very least, it seems that if he can help to propel the Democrats to victory in November, he would be highly regarded and dare I say loved by many. In addition, from his various speeches and background, it appears that Bloomberg looks at himself as a type of FDR figure. I have little doubt that he may view a super ticket as being RFK/FDR 08. Of course, he does not have military background but the economy is a big issue, and Romney's tenure as CEO, was what drew many non wing nuts to him. At any rate, I think Bloomberg has done his homework.
Here are some extra links, to read, I am not big into posting quotes because I do not want to take people out of context, I drew my inferences from this information (and a host of others) and I want you people to do the same.
News from today:
In an interview on Friday’s “Inside City Hall,” Deputy Mayor Kevin Sheekey promoted the idea of an Obama-Bloomberg presidential ticket – and revealed that Mayor Michael Bloomberg spoke yesterday with the Democratic presidential frontrunner.

A good story from someone close to Bloomberg, seems like they did a lot of polling.

One of the last entries on the unite for Mike page was about a Obama Bloomberg ticket.
